How claims get verified
ScanVersus does not run its own scanning lab. Every spec in a comparison table traces back to one of three sources: the manufacturer’s published documentation, a dated retailer listing for pricing, or test data that an independent reviewer or community member has already made public. Where sources disagree, the article says so instead of picking a number that reads cleanly.
Prices carry an explicit as-of date because street prices on 3D scanners move often — sales, bundle changes and discontinued models are common in this market. A price without a date is treated as unusable, not as a shortcut.
How this differs from a typical “top 10” list
Most scanner roundups rank products without naming a runner-up’s strengths. ScanVersus names both sides of every comparison: what the more expensive model buys, and what the cheaper one gives up.
